Job Description

Operate and setup Amada CNC turret press/laser and auxiliary equipment producing metal connector plates and steel components. Quality awareness and accurate production reporting is a major responsibility.

Job Responsibilities & Requirements

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Set up and operate CNC Turret/Laser producing both standard and custom parts per furnished work order.
  • Complete first piece inspection.
  • Load and install correct tooling for the task.
  • Complete the programming to nest parts on the sheet reducing material waste.
  • Safely operate a forklift to load and unload material.
  • Make routine decisions to resolve basic manufacturing issues.
  • Work directly with Amada and our maintenance department to resolve equipment issues.
  • Ability to use measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers and rulers.
  • Participate in equipment preventative maintenance.
  • Meet and/or exceed daily production goals. 
  • Report all machine malfunctions to mechanics or supervisors.
  • Strive to keep product waste to a minimum; inspect finished products.
  • Attendance at work during the regularly scheduled shift is an essential duty. This includes, but is not limited to the ability to work overtime as required, to be present at work, arrive on time and be at the work station ready for work at the start of the shift.

SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma or GED; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous forklift experience preferred.
  • Computer Skills: PC skills and basic CNC programming required.

  • Language Skills: Effectively communicate with co-workers and management regarding work and safety issues.

  • Mathematical Skills: Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.

  • Other Requirements: Ability to read various measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers and rulers.
