Job Description

The Environmental Health, and Safety Specialist ll will be responsible for providing and administering environmental, health, and safety programs and related policies and procedures affecting the company's existing and/or proposed environmental health and safety issues.

Job Responsibilities & Requirements

  • Drafts inspection reports to document inspection findings.

  • Enforces and implements applicable health and safety procedures for all areas of the facility.

  • Enforces and implements inspection policies and procedures, and a schedule of routine inspections, safety and environmental; making recommendations where applicable.

  • Ensure that all Industrial Hygiene requirements are satisfied.

  • Ensures that safety data sheets are maintained and readily accessible when needed.

  • Inspects the facility to identify safety, health, and environmental risks.

  • Maintains records for all safety and environmental requirements.

  • Monitors compliance with safety and environmental procedures.

  • Prepares and schedules training to cover all environmental compliance requirements.

  • Prepares and schedules training to cover emergency procedures, workplace safety, and other relevant topics.

  • Provides guidance to all levels of management regarding utilization of appropriate practices in conjunction with regulatory requirements and changes, if necessary


Qualifications

  • Associates Related Field or Equivalent combination of experience and education which clearly indicates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position may substitute on a year for year basis

  • 2+ Years Knowledge of Air and Water regulations from the EPA and the TCEQ preferred preferred

  • 2+ Years Knowledge of OSHA regs, NFPA 70E and Industrial Hygiene Best Practices. required

  • 2+ Years Extensive knowledge of environmental and safety regulations and policies required

  • Able to use Microsoft Office Applications


Physical Demands
This role is primarily performed in an office environment where a computer, telephone and other office equipment are used as needed to perform the duties of the role. As part of the essential functions of this role, the individual will need to access a factory and be exposed to temperature changes. This may will result in being exposed to noise, vibration, chemicals/fumes and navigate around factory machines.
