Job Description

The Inventory Control Specialist II is responsible for ensuring accurate inventory levels and the timely availability of materials to support manufacturing requirements. This role manages inventory transactions, cycle counts, and reconciliation activities while partnering cross functionally with Production, Purchasing, Logistics, and Finance to maintain inventory accuracy, minimize shortages and excess, and support efficient material flow. The specialist plays a key role in maintaining data integrity within ERP systems and supporting continuous improvement in inventory control processes.

Job:                   Inventory Control Specialist II

Location:          5019 90 Avenue SE, Calgary, AB T2C 2S9

Shift Times:     Monday to Friday 7AM – 3:30PM


Responsibilities

  • Set up, define, and maintain inventory locations (primary focus during the first 12 months)
  • Coordinate and execute kit issuing to production in alignment with production schedules
  • Cycle counting (count and compare count listed vs physical, investigate then correct discrepancies in system)
  • Monitor low‑inventory alerts and initiate replenishment actions, including purchase order creation as required
  • Responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy in ERP/spreadsheet
  • Receive incoming materials & put away correctly
  • Ensures next-day preparations are completed for production's needs through: stockroom organization, inventory accuracy, production kitting, material availability, timely replenishment, and supplier follow‑up for urgent material needs
  • Generates pick-lists: Parts numbers and description, QTY required, storage location


Qualifications

  • High School/GED required
  • Equivalent combination of experience and education which clearly indicates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position may substitute on a year for year basis
  • 2+ Years Inventory control, materials management, production control, or supply chain operations required
  • 2+ Years Manufacturing, distribution, or warehouse environments supporting production required


Soft Skills

  • Ability to process, comprehend, analyze and follow detailed written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to organize and establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives without supervision
  • Proficient in the use of a computer and various software packages, including Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Strong communication skills; able to interact professionally with co-workers, vendors and customers



Additional Requirements
Physical Demands
This role is primarily performed in a factory and is exposed to the temperature changes. This will result in being exposed to noise, vibration, chemicals/fumes and navigate around factory machines. A portion of this role will be performed in an office environment where a computer, telephone and other office equipment are used as needed to perform the duties of the role.
