Job Description

As the sole dedicated site HR partner, provide functional assistance in all areas including employee relations, recruitment, onboarding, compliance, worker's compensation, data management, and policy implementation. Coordinate employee relations issues with a diverse scope, focusing on developing partnerships with Supervisors and Managers. Ensure smooth and efficient business operations by managing administrative duties in day-to-day HR matters such as timekeeping support. Champions and leads facility roll-outs and implementation of various functional initiatives such as Talent Management, Total Rewards, Diversity and Inclusion, and Employee Engagement.

What You Will Do:

Responsibilities

  • Handle employee relations matters, applying an understanding of policies and regulations, in a manner that promotes a positive culture aligned to our guiding principles.
  • Directly recruit for frontline positions; support recruiting efforts for desk-based positions in partnership with assigned Talent Acquisition Partner, ensuring diverse hiring in all areas. Lead onboarding efforts for all plant positions.
  • Provide guidance to managers on performance management, talent development, and conflict resolution
  • Time & attendance support for payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of transactions.
  • Manage all worker's WSIB claims with appropriate parties. Maintain and report required Ministry of labor metrics. Support safety programs such as hearing conservation and PPE.
  • Coordinate with the center of excellence teams to implement HR programs with the respective client group
  • Support the Leave of Absence process with team members in coordination with MiTek benefits and payroll


Qualifications

  • Bachelors Human Resources Management required or
  • Bachelors Related Field required
  • 1-2 Years Human Resources Experience required
  • Up to 1 Year Human Resources Experience supporting a frontline population preferred
  • Equivalent combination of experience and education which clearly indicates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position may substitute on a year for year basis
  • Bilingual (French) preferred
  • Able to use Microsoft Office Applications

Additional Requirements

  • 5% Infrequent (~1/year) overnight travel may be required for training, conferences or company meetings


Physical Demands
This role is primarily performed in an office environment where a computer, telephone and other office equipment are used as needed to perform the duties of the role. As part of the essential functions of this role, the individual will need to access a factory and be exposed to temperature changes. This may will result in being exposed to noise, vibration, chemicals/fumes and navigate around factory machines.
