Job Description
This Software Product Manager owns and controls the direction of various components of software that runs MiTek’s Automated Machinery. MiTek machinery is integrated with software developed by MiTek, and this role owns the delivery of this software. This is a hands-on role based in our Earth City, MO facility that will work physically with MiTek’s Automated Solutions to ensure that integrated software works properly across various machinery products.Job Responsibilities & Requirements
Responsibilities:
Understands and captures customer needs via user stories and user requirements
Works with software development teams to deliver valuable solutions on time
Actively manages a backlog for software products and projects
Leads customer exchanges and discovery efforts
Effectively follows existing MiTek best practices in software development
Understands and leads software implementation practices
Stays current with software technologies and standards in software development
Demonstrates strong understanding of the industry relevant to their product responsibilities
Clearly conveys project status and progress toward milestones to various groups and stakeholders
Drives project timeline and key deliveries
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalent combination of experience and education which clearly indicates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position
2+ years of experience with product management methodologies required
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications
Excellent planning, communication, presentation, and collaboration skills
Ability to bring clarity and order to competing priorities and unmet customer needs
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions
Passion for learning new technologies and brainstorm broad applications or ideas with a wide range of stakeholders and customers
Ability to foster new and existing relationships with a variety of personality types
Strong communication skills to interact frequently with stakeholders and clients
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Production and Machinery software applications used by Wood Component Manufactures and/or experience with Human Machine Interfaces (HMI) and Process Control Systems
Experience working in a software development environment or familiarity with SDLC
