As a Cybersecurity Engineer II at MiTek, you will be instrumental in safeguarding our digital infrastructure by designing, deploying, and maintaining cutting-edge security solutions. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will embed robust security measures into our systems, networks, and applications, proactively identifying and mitigating cyber threats. What You Will Do:
Responsibilities
Deploy and manage email security protections, including DMARC, DKIM, SPF, and secure email gateway configurations, to prevent phishing and spoofing attacks.
Configure and maintain endpoint protection solutions, such as EDR/XDR platforms (e.g., CrowdStrike, Microsoft Defender) and application whitelisting (e.g., CyberArk EPM) to secure devices and block malware.
Monitor and ensure continuous compliance of the security stack, applying configurations and updates to maintain control health.
Contribute to MiTek’s cybersecurity roadmap by proposing and prioritizing initiatives to address security gaps and enhance system resilience.
· Fine-tune security tools to minimize false positives, enabling faster and more accurate incident response.
· Automate repetitive security tasks to improve operational efficiency and reduce response times.
Conduct proof-of-concept evaluations for emerging security technologies and participate in vendor assessments, benchmarking performance to ensure alignment with MiTek’s security needs and strengthen defenses.
Qualifications
Proven experience in implementing and managing email security solutions, including DMARC, DKIM, SPF, secure email gateways (e.g., Proofpoint, Mimecast), and phishing detection technologies.
Hands-on expertise in configuring and managing EDR/XDR tools (e.g., CrowdStrike, Microsoft Defender) and endpoint application control platforms (e.g., CyberArk).
Ability to automate security processes using scripting or tools to enhance efficiency.
Familiarity with evaluating and piloting emerging security technologies through proof-of-concepts.
Strong analytical skills to identify security gaps and implement effective mitigation strategies.
Excellent collaboration and communication skills to work with cross-functional teams and vendors.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills; able to translate complex technical concepts into clear guidance.
Self-driven, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Relevant security certifications are a plus (e.g., CISSP, CISM, GIAC GSEC/GCIH).
Soft Skills
Excellent fluency in English, both written and verbal.
Must be self-motivated, team oriented and possess strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Candidate should be detail oriented, with a demonstrated ability to problem solve.
Has a strong sense of urgency and commitment to quality customer service is required.
Physical Demands
This role is performed in an office environment where a computer, telephone and other office equipment are used as needed to perform the duties of the role.
