Job Description

Responsible for the overall maintenance, day to day operations of facilities, shipping and receiving of equipment at the Atlanta based Distributed Construction Training Center. This person will manage the physical building/s designated as MiTek Distributed Construction Facilities, which will include facility set-up, repair, preparation for events and micro-tests. This person will maintain inventory of supplies, equipment and tools. Oversee facility logistics to ensure customer deadlines are maintained. Responsible for establishing schedules to include production and inventory management.

Job Responsibilities & Requirements

  • Responsible for coordinating the receiving materials, supplies, equipment and other assembly objects from various vendors, suppliers and delivery entities. This includes establishing and maintaining inventory catalog methodology.

  • Coordinate with component manufacturers to ensure materials are onsite and on-time for production schedules.

  • Organize and stage materials & Equipment, shipping and receiving logistics for equipment, and maintaining inventory and tracking of all equipment on project/s.

  • Organize and maintain protocol for all onsite equipment and tools for use in the innovation center.

  • Stage and test various technology hardware systems used in the assembly process for any scheduled updates, project readiness and storage.

  • Manage the end-to-end process of divisional purchase orders, including creating, tracking, closing and reporting on current and budget impact. Utilize existing software and systems to track orders, monitor inventory levels, and analyze purchasing patterns.

  • Collaborate with various teams to support the use of the Training facility for purpose of training, and divisional events. This includes meals, logistics, travel, accommodations, etc.

  • Oversee the preparation and/or breakdown of the facility for projects, assembly testing, and facility special use. This includes planning, scheduling, and coordinating labor and resources, preparing equipment, and staging of the space.

  • Oversee the maintenance and scheduling regular facility maintenance, coordinating repairs, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

  • Implement facility layout plans on the use of space within facilities to maximize efficiency and functionality. This may include moving equipment and setting space per plan, reconfiguring layouts, and managing equipment moves and/or renovations.

  • Identify production delays and request/overseeing skilled temporary labor to ensure production deadlines are maintained.

  • Ensure that facilities meet all health, safety, and environmental regulations. This involves conducting regular inspections, implementing safety procedures, and addressing any compliance issues.

  • Ensure MiTek security standards are enforced to protect facilities, assets, and occupants. This will include access control systems, surveillance cameras, security patrols, and emergency response plans.

  • Maintain emergency preparedness plans for natural disasters, fires, medical emergencies, and other crises. This includes being responsible for ensuring that facilities are equipped to handle emergencies and for coordinating response efforts.

  • Maintain accurate records, documentation, and reports related to facility operations, maintenance activities, facility budgets, and compliance efforts.

  • Support key strategic VMU initiatives


Qualifications

  • High School/GED required

  • 3+ Years of related facilities management, project management and/or manufacturing experience required

  • Experience managing projects required

  • Construction and/or manufacturing industry experience preferred

  • Experience navigating technical programs or products preferred


Physical Demands
This role is primarily performed in a factory and is exposed to the temperature changes. This will result in being exposed to noise, vibration, chemicals/fumes and navigate around factory machines. Occasionally, this role will require pushing, pulling, bending, lifting, and moving up to 75 lbs. A portion of this role will be performed in an office environment where a computer, telephone, and other office equipment are used as needed to perform the duties of the role.
