Job Description

The Indirect Buyer II is responsible for executing the procurement of indirect goods and services that support MiTek’s day-to-day business operations. This includes managing Procure-to-Pay (P2P) activities in SAP S/4HANA, ensuring compliance with company policies, and driving cost-effective solutions while maintaining strong supplier performance. The role works closely with internal stakeholders and external vendors to identify sources of supply, manage purchase orders, and analyze market trends, all while fostering effective partnerships that keep our operations running smoothly.

Job Responsibilities & Requirements

What You’ll Do

  • Manage purchasing and order execution for indirect categories like MRO, facilities, office supplies, and corporate services.

  • Create, release, and manage purchase requisitions and purchase orders in SAP S/4HANA with accuracy and compliance.

  • Identify and qualify sources of supply to support production and facility management needs.

  • Analyze data, track market and commodity trends, and recommend solutions that balance cost, quality, and performance.

  • Build strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders through clear communication and collaboration.

  • Support and train team members on purchasing processes, and step into project leadership as directed.

What You’ll Bring

  • 3–4 years of procurement experience focused on indirect goods and services (manufacturing experience preferred).

  • Proficiency with SAP (MM module, P2P transactions, vendor master maintenance) and Microsoft Office.

  • Strong communication skills — able to explain complex ideas clearly in writing, in meetings, and with vendors.

  • Analytical mindset with the ability to spot trends and make data-driven decisions.

  • A collaborative approach and willingness to mentor others.

  • Associate’s degree in a related field, or equivalent experience.

  • Preferred: Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or equivalent.

Additional Requirements

  • 10% travel to visit to vendors and other MiTek locations as needed. Mostly local visits; infrequent (1-2 per year) overnight travel may be required.

Physical Demands
This role is primarily performed in an office environment where a computer, telephone and other office equipment are used as needed to perform the duties of the role. As part of the essential functions of this role, the individual will need to access a factory and be exposed to temperature changes. This may will result in being exposed to noise, vibration, chemicals/fumes and navigate around factory machines.
