Laboratory Technician

Job Description

Lab Technicians work as part of the Operations team to measure the parameters and performance of raw materials, in-process components, and final product. This may include, but not limited to, sampling, material preparation, testing, data entry and housekeeping. Technicians assist both production and R&D efforts to understand the conformance and performance of various materials.

Job Responsibilities & Requirements

Primary Accountabilities:

  • Follow all written procedures to sample material, perform a test and record/communicate results.
  • Assist in maintaining lab equipment and supply inventory.
  • Use all provided personal protective equipment to perform all tasks.
  • Maintain a clean, safe lab environment.
  • Work in a team setting with all MiTek employees and guests.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Required Skills:

Education High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience –

  • 6 to 12 months experience in a lab environment or 2 years in manufacturing with testing responsibilities
  • Familiar with chemical handling
  • Familiar with calibrating and handling lab equipment

Skills –

  • Follow instructions and procedures
  • Function as a team member in a manufacturing setting
  • Communicate clearly with written and verbal methods
  • Self-Motivated to complete assigned tasks
  • Use Microsoft Office capably
  • Understand of simple mathematics

Working Conditions:

  • Work in lab, warehouse, and process settings.
  • Lift minimum 50 pounds.
  • Operate forklift as needed.
