Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Software Engineering Manager who will lead a team to innovate and build software that will provide structural engineering capabilities for the residential construction industry.

Job Responsibilities & Requirements

 

Essential Functions:

  • Lead and manage a team of software engineers, providing guidance and mentorship to support their professional growth and success. 

  • Create and promote a respectful and collaborative working environment. 

  • Recruit, onboard, and mentor a high-performing software development team. 

  • Manage and lead design, implementation, testing, and debugging of new and existing software. 

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to discover, design, develop and fulfill business needs. 

  • Manage resourcing, estimation, scheduling, and execution of work required to meet business needs. 

  • Identify and mitigate risks and issues, proactively addressing challenges that may impact project timelines or deliverables. 

  • Provide technical guidance, assistance, and contributions to the team. 

  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence within the software engineering team. 

  • Work closely with the architecture team to ensure adherence to, and continued development of, architecture best practices. 

  • Evaluate and recommend technologies, hardware, software, and services.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in technical field or equivalent experience

  • 5+ years of professional experience in software design and development required

  • Strong technical background and hands-on experience in software development using modern programming languages and frameworks

  • Demonstrated leadership skills 

  • Ability to interact professionally with internal and external customers and team members

  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate in both technical and business terms

  • Development experience with Microsoft technologies, including object-oriented design using .NET

Preferred Skills & Abilities:

  • Experience modernizing large complex software applications, including refactoring, rearchitecting, and introducing new technologies and frameworks

  • Experience with 3D modeling, BIM, or CAD software

  • Working knowledge of structure engineering and residential building construction

In compliance with the Colorado Equal Pay For Equal Work Act, the pay range for this position is estimated at $140k-$165k/year. Base pay offered may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills and experience.
