A Brief Overview

The Procurement Supervisor, MBP & Stamping, is responsible for leading sourcing, procurement, and supplier management activities that support MiTek's Metal Building Products (MBP) and stamping operations. This role supervises Procurement Buyers while developing sourcing strategies that ensure material availability, cost competitiveness, supplier performance, and operational continuity. The position partners closely with manufacturing, production planning, engineering, and operations teams to support stamped steel components, coil steel, fabricated metal products, and other critical direct materials. The Procurement Supervisor will leverage SAP S/4HANA to drive procurement excellence, improve data integrity, and support supply chain optimization initiatives.

What You Will Do:

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies for MBP and stamping-related commodities, stampings, fabricated components, and outsourced manufacturing services.
  • Oversee procurement processes, including SAP S4Hana P2P as well as lead supplier selection, competitive bidding, negotiations, and contract management activities.
  • Supervise daily activities of purchasing staff, monitor workflow, and ensure adherence to deadlines.
  • Monitor commodity markets, material cost trends, and supply risks impacting MBP operations.
  • Identify cost reduction opportunities through strategic sourcing, supplier consolidation, value engineering, and market analysis.
  • Setting suppler KPIs and evaluating supplier performance based on quality, service, and other key measurables.
  • Support negotiations with suppliers on pricing and terms under established guidelines.
  • Ensure compliance with company purchasing procedures and policies. As well as Establish procurement best practices, standard work, and compliance expectations across the team.
  • Provide daily leadership, coaching, and development for Procurement Buyers.

Leadership Responsibilities
Provides day-to-day supervision, coaching, and guidance to purchasing clerks and buyers. Promotes teamwork, accountability, and a supportive work environment to encourage staff growth and performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, Business, Engineering, or related field.
  • 4+ years of procurement or purchasing experience required.
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience of a procurement team required.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute.
  • Hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA, specifically procurement and Procure-to-Pay processes.

  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience supporting procurement transformation and process improvement initiatives within SAP S/4HANA environments.
  • Adopt to rapidly changing priorities based on business needs.

Physical Demands
This role is Hybrid based 3-days in office per week, using a computer, phone, and other standard equipment. Daily visits to the production floor as needed, with exposure to noise, temperature changes, vibration, and production machinery.
