Job Description
Contribute to the design and analysis of structural connectors to transfer seismic, high-wind, and gravity forces for wood, steel, and concrete components. Design and construct models of installations using MiTek structural connectors suitable for display at trade shows and engineering conferences. Assist with analysis and documentation of new products and product revisions in compliance with product testing standards and building code requirements. This position reports to the R&D Lab Manager, where the engineering intern is assigned, located at 3750 Rider Trail S, Earth City, MO 63045.Job Responsibilities & Requirements

Essential Functions
Participate in the design and analysis of structural components
Collaborate with R&D engineers, Marketing, and Sales to determine needs and requirements for display models for industry trade shows and engineering conferences
Design and assemble physical models of MiTek structural connectors to meet specified requirements
Analyze test reports and data from internal testing and independent labs
Produce written documentation to add value to test results
Conduct technical research pertaining to building codes and standards
Qualifications
Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in an accredited college degree program. Preferred field of study: Civil, Structural, Architectural, or Mechanical Engineering; expected graduation date in Fall 2026 or Spring 2027 with potential to convert to full-time employment.
Computer Skills: MS Office suite of products
Cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher
Experience operating power tools used in wood frame construction and/or interest in structural design or construction management is a plus
Ownership of one or more high-priority projects that will assess your problem-solving, leadership, and presentation skills
