Job Description

Day Shift (Monday to Thursday 6:00AM - 4:30PM)

The Welder & Machine Operator is responsible for performing high‑quality welds to drawings and safely operating production machinery to support manufacturing schedules. This role ensures components are produced to specification, equipment is used effectively, and safety standards are consistently followed. The position requires attention to detail, technical skill (CWB certification), and the ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced production environment.

What You Will Do:

Responsibilities

  • Operates and maintains welding equipment and press where required.
  • Responsible for the fitting and welding pre-cut/pre-drilled hanger components to a high degree of accuracy as shown on engineered drawings.
  • Our Hangers are custom built to customer specifications and comprised of components that are designed to work together as part of the overall build, we rely on high attention is detail from the simple components to the more complex components.
  • Takes ownership of work area and performs housekeeping, organizes work area and manages the storage of materials.
  • Safely operate all equipment inside the shop.
  • Attendance at work during the regularly scheduled shift is an essential duty. This includes, but is not limited to the ability to work overtime as required, being punctual and adhering to administrative work procedures.


Qualifications

  • High School/GED required
  • Equivalent combination of experience and education which clearly indicates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position may substitute on a year for year basis
  • 2+ Years related experience with a brake press. required
  • Related experience is direct, hands-on in a manufacturing operation with prior welding skills in a team-based environment.
  • Able to perform mathematical skills such as calculating proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume and able to apply concepts of basic geometry
  • Ability to read and understand prints and schematics
  • Ability to use small hand-power tools, including reading a tape measure with 1/32-inch increments
  • Able to use Microsoft Office Applications
  • Canadian Welding Board (CWB) Upon Hire required


Soft Skills

  • Effectively communicate with co-workers and management regarding work and safety issues.
  • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions and production drawings.
  • Applicant must be flexible and willing to execute out of scope tasks as the priorities of the job site/shop may change on a day to day basis.


Physical Demands
This is a physical position that requires the individual to be able to: stand, walk and carry up to 75 lbs., push/pull and crouch. This position requires the individual to be able to communicate through speaking and hearing.

Expected Salary Range: $30-33/hour based on prior experience and qualifications.
